Ug. I'm joining in with those who decline to comment on poor Terri Schiavo. Other than to say that, if you end up with a sibling in Ms. Schiavo's condition, don't show too much emotional attachment. You'll be ridiculed by bloggers who put political abstractions ahead of simple human empathy. Unseemly.
Empathy means attempting to feel what others feel. To empathize with Terry Shiavo would be to attempt to feel what a chicken feels or a cockroach. Not much. The woman is dead. A husk. A shell. A vegatable.

What has empathy got to do with it? If the guy's lying then he's lying. I feel bad for the family but there's no excuse for that.
